About Affordable Warmth Grants
What Is Affordable Warmth?
Affordable Warmth funding it is designed to reduce the carbon foot print of properties in the uk. Affordable Warmth funding is a stream relative to domestic insulation installations: The Carbon Savings Community Obligation ( CSCo ) will require energy suppliers to deliver energy efficiency measures worth around £190m per year through to March 2018. The CSCo will target households across Great Britain in specified areas to improve energy efficiency standards. To ensure that rural areas are able to benefit from t he CSCo element of the ECO , we will require energy suppliers to deliver a minimum of 15% of their CSCo obligation to low - income households living in rural areas. Why Do You Qualify For Funding?
The honest answer you do not us. It is the occupier of the property that qualifies for funding. Saving Energy Group focus upon properties that are off gas in the main, because typically there is a restrictive fuel market and as such the occupier is forced to use Oil or Coal to heat their Home. Oil and Coal are course the most damaging environmental fuels, but the rural property has little choice. The idea therefore is that where the 'Dirtiest' energy is used, the more effective the insulation in reducing one's Carbon footprint! The other factor is of course the rising cost of fossil fuels, and as such the rural fuel bill is often substantially more than the urban one.
Do You Have To Claim The Money?
No. We at Saving Energy Group arrange for a full property survey which gives your property acsses to funding, of which you will be asked to pay £0. If the property requires the necessary insulation measures, we then arrange at a time convenient to you, the installation. The installation company will then install the work, provide the certificate of installation, the guarantees and a form for you to fill in. Again at this point you will be asked to pay £0. The installation company then approach an Energy Company, who have the obligation to pay for the work, with the paperwork and evidence of the install and are then paid by the Energy Company directly. At no point will you be asked for or expected to pay any money whatsoever.
Where Does The Money Come From?
Quite simply it is collected through taxation via your (and everyone's) energy bill. This money is then accumulated and released to qualifying individuals, such as those who install correct insulation. It is via The Green Tax Levy.
